Your bleed is your monthly health report card 🩸📝
The quality of your menstrual cycle - the quality of your bleed (or abscence there of), your PMS symptoms, your pain levels, your physical changes - It all forms a symptomatic picture of your health status over the past few months. Your period is quite literally your monthly report card. 🩸👸🏻
I am healthy even on my worst days
I used to think that the only times I was ‘healthy’ were the days that I was 'perfect' in my health. If ANYTHING was out, I would not let myself believe that I was healthy, and I felt I needed to 'start again' the next day.. This is absolutely NOT the case!!
Approaching your health from a place of ‘body first’
I no longer approach my health (my fitness, my nutrition, my relationship with my body) from a place of what my mind wants. Instead, I let my body lead. I let my body tell me what she needs, wants, desires. And equally what she doens’t need, want, or desire. And this has been GAME CHANGER!
What it TRULY means to be a woman 👸🏻
As a woman, you are a dynamic, consistently shifting, absolute force of nature who at times may like Barbie and an absolute queen, while at other times may feel like a lousy, fat raccoon who wants to do nothing but rot in bed with her favourite snack and binge watch Netflix. 😅🥲
Disconnection is easy - The real flex is (re)connecting
What with a multitude of streaming sites, social media platforms, food delivery services, and consumer-driven advertising at our fingertips.. It’s no wonder SO many of us are walking around dazed, confused, and/or disconnected from our true sense of self - Whether we realise it or not. 💁🏻♀️😶🌫️
BUT I ABSOLUTELY do understand how important it is to PRACTICE and PRIORITISE re-connection to self -
You CANNOT ‘suppress’ yourself to healthy
Your body is ALWAYS trying to find a sense of balance (technically called homeostasis), and whenever you experience any ‘symptoms’ within your body, essentially those symptoms are the manifestation of your body adjusting to something and trying to correct anything that may have been throwing it out of balance or ‘homeostasis’.
Embracing all aspects of self 🧡
If you have ever felt triggered by the idea of embodying a particular emotion, ashamed or put-down for expressing your sexuality, embarrassed for wearing certain clothes or for showing up a particular way, or even felt triggered when someone ELSE does/says/has a particular look that you wouldn’t feel comfortable expressing yourself, then lean into why. This is your shadow coming up: any area of yourself that through shame, pain and programming, you have learnt is not worthy, lovable, enough.
Breathing is probably one of THE most transformative tools I utilise (on almost a day-to-day basis) in one way or another, to regulate, calm, ground, and support my body, mind, and soul. 🪽 Read this blog to find out how I utilise breathing on a day-to-day basis.
