Don’t shame yourself for falling off with your health - Try this instead!

When you’ve fallen off the bandwagon with your health, fitness, goals.. The guilt and shame that ensues can be overwhelming. 😌🫶🏼 I get it, I’ve been there many a time. But shame and guilt don’t actually get you anywhere. In fact, it can leave you feeling more stuck, more lost, more defeated than ever before. It can be a vicious cycle that leaves you feeling nothing short of miserable, and it can DEFINITELY stunt your growth and movement forward in what would otherwise be a positive step forward.

Soooo, rather than wallowing in your own yucky energy and spiralling further into a state of ‘I may as well give up or not even try’… 🙃

Two alternative approaches can be:

🦋 Bring alllll your attention into just ONE thing you can do RIGHT NOW

👉🏼 Movement is often what drives motivation (not the other way around.) Read that last sentence again. By shutting out the noise of allll the millions of things you ‘could be’ or ‘should be’ doing, you free up mental and energetic space to focus on one thing alone, which means you are 10,000x more likely to actually DO the thing. (That’s a slight exaggeration, but you get the jist).

🦋 Take inventory of what this guilt is showing you, and use it as a tool for growth.

👉🏼 Our emotions are teachers. There are absolutely no ‘bad’ emotions. Sure, some are uncomfortable to experience, but if you allow for them to actually teach us - to highlight where you may have not honoured your own values or commitments to self, you put yourself in a position to make an empowered decision to RESPOND and correct that. *As opposed to ‘reacting’ to the situation by spiralling and self-sabotaging.
